How to Scan QR Codes on iPhone and Android
Most modern smartphones can scan QR codes using just the built-in camera app—no extra apps needed. Here's how to do it on any device.
How to Scan QR Codes on iPhone
- Open the Camera app
- Point your camera at the QR code
- Make sure all four corners are visible in the frame
- A notification banner will appear at the top or bottom
- Tap the banner to open the link or action
If It's Not Working on iPhone:
- Go to Settings → Camera
- Enable "Scan QR Codes"
- You need iOS 11 or later
Alternative: Use Code Scanner
Add "Code Scanner" to Control Center for quick access. You can also say "Hey Siri, scan a QR code" to open the scanner directly.
How to Scan QR Codes on Android
- Open the Camera app
- Point at the QR code
- A pop-up banner will appear
- Tap the banner to open the link
On Samsung Devices:
